“The only thing I regret in all this is not having made this decision earlier. It’s been an incredible healing and learning journey.”
We’re very grateful to have the opportunity to make a huge difference in our clients’ lives and now and then we have a chance to fly in the face of medical opinion and ‘cure’ what supposedly cannot be ‘cured’.
Robert’s story is a real heart warmer because, having been labeled with a disease – ulcerative colitis – he has been able to make huge strides in his wellbeing using some stupidly simple tools.
44-year old Robert, from Quebec in Canada shares a common frustration among folk who search for health solutions on the Internet.
He tells us:
“Given that conventional medicine couldn’t help me, I’ve always thought that I could and would find the solution on my own with the help of the information and resources available on the Internet.
Unfortunately, a lot of the information available is confusing, contradictory and misleading hence making it extremely hard to know right from wrong.”
Perhaps you’re in the same situation as Robert was?
If so, you have my sympathies.
While the Internet has opened up a whole Universe of information for health solutions outside conventional medicine, it’s also damned confusing.
How do you pull all the info together?
In what sequence do you address each health issue you’re struggling with?
Who is right?
Whom do you trust?
What do you do?
If this is you, why not let us do all the hard work for you so you can follow a simply, organized process that helps you get results faster.
That’s how we were able to help Robert.
How was Robert feeling?
When he contacted us, Robert hadn’t been feeling well for 24 years (yes, twenty-four years).
He was experiencing these symptoms in his stomach and intestines:
- Stomach pain
- Colon / low abdominal pain diagnosed as ulcerative colitis
- Right side abdominal tenderness
- Nausea
- Belching
- Bloating
- Foul smelling stool
- Constipation
- Food intolerances
On top of this long list of digestive symptoms, Robert was also struggling in the following areas:
- Low libido
- Fatigue
- Headaches
- Continuous upper back and right sided pain
- Aching muscles
- Poor concentration
- Alternating between depression and anxiety
- Frequently catching colds
- Craving for salty foods
- Dizziness on standing
All counted up, Robert had nearly 20 different symptoms – almost a symptom for each year he hadn’t been feeling well.
We felt we could help him; moreover, we felt it was our obligation to do so.
How we helped Robert turn around his health
Robert worked with one of my practitioners – Jack Walton – for 12 months. This wasn’t an immediate turnaround and needed some commitment.
Of course, not everyone needs this long to feel well and with some folk, dramatic health improvements can be achieved in just one or two months.
Robert’s initial stool test
Because Robert had so many digestive symptoms, it was sensible to start by assessing his gut.
We ran a stool test that as you can see below, detected the following imbalances:
- Candida (with Candida diving, indicating an active overgrowth)
- coli overgrowth
- Proteus vulgaris
It was clear that Robert would need to do some work on rebalancing his digestive flora (more good bugs and less bad bugs).
He accomplished this by using specific herbal and nutritional supplement protocols, and taking care to keep his diet clean and free from processed food.
Jack organized the program in such a way that it was effective but easy to follow and most certainly not overwhelming.
Additional tests:
In complex cases such as Robert’s we sometimes need to run additional laboratory tests to uncover other imbalances in the body.
Robert ran a urinary organic acids test, which tells us a lot about his energy production, nutrient status, liver and detoxification health, brain chemistry, inflammation levels and oxidative stress.
He also ran a finger-prick blood test to check his thyroid hormone levels, as well as a saliva test to check his adrenal and sex hormone levels.
Here’s what the tests found:
- Low T3 hormone levels, indicating ‘subclinical’ hypothyroidism (low thyroid function)
- Low cortisol and borderline low DHEA levels, indicating adrenal function imbalance
- Low testosterone
- Excessive levels of oxidative stress and an urgent need for more antioxidants, including vitamins C and E
- Insufficiencies in vitamins B12 and B2, carnitine, coenzyme Q10
- An insufficiency in the body’s chief antioxidant, glutathione (indicating toxicity and liver stress)
- Low potassium and molybdenum levels
This might seem like a lot nutrient deficiencies and hormone imbalances, but it’s very common to find these patterns in our chronically unwell clients.
Sadly, most people never get to know these advanced home lab tests are available to them, let alone the opportunity to use them.
I’m glad you know about them now, as they can certainly help you uncover the reasons for your symptoms, as Robert did.
What symptom improvements did Robert experience?
In addition to rebalancing his digestive system, Robert followed a series of protocols to restore nutrient levels and hormone balance.
These protocols consisted of specific nutritional supplements and herbs to enhance the body’s ability to do its job, i.e. restore its own health.
Here is the list of symptom improvements he experienced:
- Stomach Pain – greatly improved.
- Colon / low abdominal pain diagnosed as ulcerative colitis – greatly Improved
- Right side abdominal tenderness – greatly improved
- Nausea – greatly improved
- Belching – greatly improved
- Bloating – greatly improved
- Foul smelling stool – greatly improved.
- Constipation – better management
- Headaches – completely alleviated
- Upper back pain / right side alleviated (eliminating cow’s milk from his diet did this)
- Aching muscles – greatly improved
- Low libido – improving
- Fatigue – greatly improved energy levels
- Poor concentration – improving
- Depressed and anxiety – greatly improved (depression was completely alleviated)
- Frequently catching colds – lessened
- Cravings for salty foods – alleviated (this is often a symptom of ‘adrenal fatigue’)
- Dizziness on standing up – improved
- Allergies – gradual improvement
As crazy as it may seem, Robert’s symptoms were all linked together.
When the gut is damaged, it can lead to nutritional deficiencies, detoxification problems and hormonal imbalances.
Furthermore, the body responds by launching an immune and inflammatory attack.
Once there is a lot of inflammation and the immune, digestive, hormone and detoxification systems are out of balance, virtually any symptom can develop.
Sadly, the medical system labels these imbalances as specific disorders or diseases and tries to paper over the cracks with drugs.
If the drugs don’t work and a certain organ or system gets badly damaged, you’re sent for surgery.
It’s extremely disempowering, but it can be avoided.
We just need to hyphenate the words ‘dis-order’ and ‘dis-ease’, and it changes their meaning.
Robert’s Testimonial
I’m sure you’ll agree that Robert’s story is inspiring. Here’s what he had to say about his journey:
“Hello, my name is Robert Martin. For the past 24 years I’ve been struggling with ulcerative colitis.
I’ve been consulting doctors and searching the Internet with the hope, of one day, being able to regain a normal life.
Given that conventional medicine couldn’t help me, I’ve always thought that I could and would find the solution on my own with the help of the information and resources available on the Internet.
Unfortunately, a lot of the information available is confusing, contradictory and misleading hence making it extremely hard to know right from wrong.
In desperation, I finally realize a year ago that I needed a nutritional coach to guide me through this sea of information.
That is when I started looking for a nutritional coach that I could partner with.
I was looking for someone that would be available to me whenever I had questions or needed immediate support – someone that would take the time to educate me, and someone that would use an holistic and natural approach.
After doing a lot of research, I found the Dave Hompes Method and Jack Walton.
I have now been working with Jack for a little over a year. Since a year ago, Jack has accompanied me in my healing process.
Jack has helped me regain my life.
The healing continues yet, I now feel for the first in 24 years, that I am finally on the road to recovery and that I am regaining control of my life.
The only thing I regret in all this is not having made this decision earlier. It’s been an incredible healing and learning journey.
Thanks Jack for everything you have done for me.”
Regards,

The best starting point if you have a cluster of symptoms that include your gut is a home stool test.
It’s simple and effective.
You just provide a stool sample in the comfort of your own home – there are no embarrassing clinic visits and nurses or doctors to contend with.
You pop a sample into the test tube and mail it back to the lab for analysis in the packaging provided.
It looks for 55 different reasons why you might feel under the weather.
We analyze the result for you, and give you some guidance on what it all means, and the action steps you need to take to begin feeling better.
I’m biased but I think it’s a no brainer.
Irrespective of what your doc has told you, you CAN feel better, faster, and a stool test is the best starting point.
What’s more, if the test comes back blank and we can’t help, I’ll refund every penny.
I do at least one stool test every year just to check everything’s ok because my health matters to me so much.
